It has been recently brought to our attention that the downloads have not been working correctly. After extensive testing we have found the problem to be a component named iONFILEs for Joomla!. We have since removed this unreliable component and replaced it with Docman , which appears to be more stable, and used more than the previous script we had been using. Some information about DOCman;
DOCman is a document management and download system for Joomla!. With
this component your users can easily upload and manage files across
multiple categories and make them available for download on a your
Joomla! websites.
Main features:
* Infinite categories and subcategories. The documents can be organized across custom categories and subcategories;
* Files can be hosted locally or on a remote server
* Access control: Documents can be assigned to specific user or to custom groups of users
* Download counter and log. You can display a download counter per
document and all the downloads can be logged (by user, IP, browser,
date and hour);
* Own search system. Documents can be searched by name and/or
description. The search system integrates with Joomla! using an
optional mambot;
* Anti-leech system. The built-in anti-leech system avoids direct linking to documents;
* Path protection. Real paths to documents are never displayed to users;
* Themes: The layout can be changed using custom themes;
* ... and much more!

NZB is an XML-based file format for retrieving posts from NNTP (Usenet) servers. This format was conceived by the developers of the Newzbin.com Usenet searching Index. NZB is effective when used with search-capable websites. These websites create NZB files out of what is needed to be downloaded. Using this concept, headers would not be downloaded hence the NZB method is quicker and more bandwidth-efficient.
How it works - Each Usenet message has a unique identifier called the "Message ID". When a somewhat large file is posted to a Usenet newsgroup, it is usually divided into multiple messages (called segments or parts) each having its own Message-ID. An NZB-capable Usenet client will read the Message-ID from the NZB file, download them and decode the messages back into a binary file (usually using yEnc or Uuencode). source -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NZB
